Enelow, Hyman Gershon (1877–1934)
Extract
American Reform rabbi and scholar. He was born in Lithuania and went to the US as a youth. He served as a rabbi in Kentucky and at Temple Emanuel in New York from 1912 to 1934. He was president of the Central Conference of American Rabbis from 1927 to 1929. His writings include The Synagogue in Modern Life, The Faith of Israel , and A Jewish View of Jesus . He also edited Israel Alnakawa's Menoral ha-Maor as well as the Midrash of 32 Hermeneutic Rules ascribed to Eliezer ben Hyrcanus. ... log in or subscribe to read full text
