Palestinian rabbi. He studied in Safed and later moved to Jerusalem, where he was a leading rabbi and head of a yeshivah. Influenced by the Sabbetaians, he and other rabbis went to Gaza to seek purification of the soul from Nathan of Gaza. He accompanied Shabbetai Tzevi to Smyrna and Constantinople.
