Hiller, Ferdinand (1811–1885)

German composer. From 1828 to 1835 he was active as a music teacher and pianist in Paris. He subsequently converted to Christianity and held various positions in Germany and Italy. He founded the Conservatory of Cologne in 1850 which he directed.
