Galician Ḥasidic leader. He was born in Brody and served as a preacher there and, later, in Zloczov. He was one of the early propagators of Ḥasidism in Galicia; he was strongly opposed by the mitnaggedim. Toward the end of his life he settled in Yampol, Podolia.
