Dutch banker and Zionist. He was born in The Hague and became the owner and manager of his family's bank (Lissa & Kann) from 1891. As an aide to Theodor Herzl, he was one of the founders of the Jewish Colonial Trust in 1899. He was an active participant in the Zionist Congresses and was elected to the Zionist Organization's executive in 1905.
