Rothenberg, Morris (1885–1950)

American Zionist leader. He was born in Dorpat, Estonia, and was taken to the US in 1893. During World War I he was a member of a federal commission charged with fixing the price of bread. In 1937 he became city magistrate of New York. He was a founder and executive committee member of the Jewish Welfare Board, a founder of the Joint Distribution Committee, and an executive committee member of the Council for German Jewry.
