(Hebrew “Sheva Berakhot”) The benedictions recited at the wedding ceremony after the bridegroom places the ring on the bride's finger. The first benediction is said over a cup of wine; the following three praise God; the fifth celebrates the restoration of Zion; the sixth refers to the joy of the first couple in Paradise; and the seventh thanks God for having created joy and gladness, and for the bride and bridegroom.
