Israeli writer and journalist. He was born in Khar'kov, in the Ukraine, and went to Palestine in 1924. From 1965 he was the editor of the weekend literary supplement of Ha-Aretz , for which he wrote art criticism. In 1971 he became cultural attaché at the Israeli embassy in London.
