Tchernowitz, Chaim (1871–1949)

American talmudic scholar. He was born in Sebesh, Russia. He founded a yeshivah in Odessa and adopted the pseudonym “Rav Tzair.” In 1923 he settled in the US and taught Talmud at the Jewish Institute of Religion in New York.
