Company of ammunition carriers in the British army. It was enrolled in World War I in Egypt on the initiative of Vladimir Jabotinsky and Joseph Trumpeldor, and consisted of Jews expelled from Palestine by the Turks. The British rejected the proposal to form these men into a Jewish military unit, but agreed to organize them as companies of mule-drivers to carry ammunition in Gallipoli.
