(d. 912/13) Christian physician, scientist, writer and translator of Greek scientific works into Arabic and syriac . His translations, like those of his contemporary hunayn ibn ishaq , also fluent in Syriac, Arabic and Greek, were instrumental in the transmission of Greek scientific literature to Arabic, Islamic science. Unlike Hunayn and many of the Christian physicians in Baghdad, Qustā was a melkite from Baalbek, Lebanon. He worked in Baghdad before moving later in life to Armenia, where he died.
