trademark

Extract
A trademark is a design, symbol, word, or series of words that is used to identify a specific company, service, or product(s). A trademark may be registered in order to protect the right of the company to have exclusive use of the trademark in the geographic area of registration. Infringement is a common occurrence in some countries. Even though laws exist in many countries to protect this “property right,” lax enforcement of the laws leads to illegal activities by those who would copy products or goods which are trademarked.
