The validation of a qualifying test administered to applicants for positions as police officers is the subject of this case. Test 21 was designed to test verbal ability, such as vocabulary, reading, and comprehension. In considering the validity of this test, the court considered whether the test was directly related to satisfactory progress in the police training program.
