Acculturation . The process by which an individual from a different culture or nationality has adapted his or her behavior, beliefs, and attitudes to be consistent with those of the dominant culture in which he or she is now living . Affordances . Aspects of an object's structure that reliably predict how it should be held, manipulated, or used . Agglutinative morphology . System of word formation in which a large array of affixes may be attached to a root morpheme to express complex meanings. As in the Finnish language . Agraphia . A spelling disorder acquired following brain damage . Allele . A DNA sequence that varies across individuals, either in a gene or a noncoding region . Alphabetic principle .
