Shropshire town in which Patrick served as curate for most of 1809. The area was more industrial than any he had previously known, and provided opportunities for clergymen of an evangelical bent such as himself. He made many friends and acquaintances there, such as William Morgan and John Fennell, and was introduced into the circle of Mary Fletcher, widow of the saintly John.
