(Tenn.) On 15–16 December 1864, Major General George T homas's 49,770 Federals routed Brigadier General John Hood's 23,200 Confederates. USA losses: 387 killed, 2,562 wounded, 112 missing. CSA losses: no more than 1,500 killed and wounded, 4,462 captured (including 3 generals).
