By accepting runaway slaves as tribal members and raiding settlers in Ga. and Ala., they provoked the first S eminole W ar . When most Seminoles followed O sceola's lead in refusing to be moved to Okla. in the 1830s, a second war resulted that led to all but a few hundred being shipped across the Mississippi by force.
